The wedding is coming up in less than two very short months. I am so excited and just occasionally stressed out about all there is to do to get ready. Luckily I have huge help–my mom has been immensely helpful in big and small ways–researching items to buy, running around to every craft or office store in town (she must go to Michael’s three times a week), ranking my options in various items (jewelry, shoes, etc.), keeping lists, making things, reminding me of things, etc. I have also leaned heavily on my wedding planner to do some of the networking and connections–chatting with the vendors and offering options and ideas…but I really have relied more heavily on my mom! She could have a wedding planning career. And of course, I have sisters and friends and various relatives who are offering help…and Nik has been a great help!

I have been pretty busy at work, and trying to do wedding planning in the evenings (I can’t get to it regularly on weekends because I have been out of town nearly every weekend, often wedding-related too!). Although I am taking a month off from work around the wedding, I could use two!! It’s all a ton of fun, though, and I don’t know what I’m going to do once the wedding is over!! There are two big work projects I am trying to finish up before I take my leave–I have a chapter to write, and I am trying to get all of my dissertation coding done. I have been doing a good job taking time to work on my own work–keeping at least a half day or day to work from home–so I have been really productive. Tomorrow I have all day to work on both of these big projects, and I’m looking forward to it. And so many thanks to Megan, who has jumped right into my dissertation coding push right along with me. I couldn’t do it without her–she’s amazing.

I am so looking forward to the next couple of months. It feels like the verge of so much excitement and merriment. I am looking forward to accomplishing big things, the wedding, the honeymoon, the bachelorette party in Cabo, fall…and quickly thereafter, the holidays!
